What a great story. In the article, it said eating peppers would help with other pains. Of course they do. While your mouth is on fire, your nose is running and the thought of the next mornings movement is on your mind, (what goes in, does come out), the pain you had in other areas seems to go away. And when the heat leaves, and the old pain creeps back in, you rub your eyes in the middle of the night and the peppers you  thought were going through the system, let's you know the heat didn't go away when you finished eating. Oh but morning is on it's way.

GLOBmaster2017Good morning GLOBers and a very Happy Friday to you.  Man this Friday took a long time getting here.  I just checked this list of cool, fun things to do and we are encircled in a veritable cornucopia of entertaining occurrences.   The GLOB Master is ready to devote his cerebral energy toward interesting thing like the bright lights of Friday night.  So let's get to the point of why we meet here on the best darn day of the week:



5:00: Gainesville Pop-Up Vintage Market, 2029 NW 6th St. Offering a boutique Market experience with a Happy Hour flair, our Market will be held from 5 PM to 10 PM on Friday, April 6 at La Chua Vintage, Come on out and buy and sell handmade, vintage and re-purposed goods!  We feature vintage furniture, re-purposed items, vintage housewares, industrial, vintage fashions and all manner of cool items. 




8:00: Sylvia, OPENING NIGHT High Springs Playhouse, various days, times. 130 NE 1st Ave. High Springs. Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after twenty-two years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park—or that has found him—bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag.




8:00: Phoebe Hunt and the Gatherers, Heartwood soundstage, 619 S. Main St., Downtown. Accomplished Americana instrumentalist with foundations in jazz and swing music, Phoebe ‘s new album is the culmination of a five year journey that has taken her from her Austin roots through Music Row, Brooklyn, and even to India to study with seventh-generation master violinist Kala Ramnath. 8:45: Hippvana Nights, Hippodrome, Downtown. A night of salsa dancing in the Hipp Lower Level begins with a salsa dancing class taught by Bailecaliente. $5 at the door. At 9:45 p.m., DJ Elio Piedra brings the party when floor opens up for a night of spicy salsa dancing FREE and open to the public. Food will be Latin Americ an fare by Abuella’s (the same folks who run Flaco’s Cuban Bakery), and will include vegan & meat empanadas as well as Cuban sandwiches.





HVMF Barbeque & Music Festival, Fri. – 5:00, Sat.- 8:00 a.m. Florida Cracker Kitchen.( Old Tom's BBQ ) Keystone Heights. Third annual fest Hosted by Hampton Veterans Memorial Fund,Inc. Vendors, camping, car shows, barbecue & music!! The whole shebang is going on! Come and enjoy the blues on us!




FMNH Plant Sale, Florida Museum, UF Cultural plaza. Sale is one of the largest of the year, featuring more than 150 species of difficult-to-find and pollinator-friendly plants. Learn how to attract butterflies to your home and which plants are proven winners. Accent, host, native and nectar plants are available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Butterfly Rainforest.





10:00: Scavenger Hunt & Bug Zoo, Florida Museum, UF Cultural Plaza. Annual Bug Week will feature a fun-for-all-ages, FREE scavenger hunt at the Museum! Teams will be given bug-related clues and can win prizes. The UF Entomology Department will also have a Bug Zoo near the Discovery Zone. All activities are FREE and ongoing from 10 a.m. to noon.




11:00: 2018 India Fest, SFC Gym, 3000 NW 83rd St. Indian cuisine, cultural rhythms and dances, Indian clothes, art, and jewelry. showcase the rich culture and tradition of India, and various activities are planned to enlighten and entertain people throughout the day. The ICEC would like to invite the community to Santa Fe College Gymnasium to enjoy the music, dance, food, vendors, children's corner, and a lot more.




3:00: Gainesville Spring Pops Concert, First United Methodist Church. 419 NE 1st St.  Gainesville Pops! is a performing wind ensemble comprised of professional musicians, music educators, and serious hobbyists, all from the Gainesville area. GPops! was formed in 2008. All concerts are presented free of charge.




6:00 & 7:30: A Taste of Valhalla, Dance Alive National Ballet, Curtis M. Philips Center for the Performing Arts. UF Cultural Plaza. The UF Symphony Orchestra joins DANB in a fantasy story ballet of love, romance, greed and power based on Wagner’s Ring Cycle.  ‘Rugby’, a rowdy piece with our super athletic male dancers, Welson Tremura’s passionate Guitarra Latina and pianist Kevin Sharpe’s lyric style complete this stunning program created by choreographers Kim Tuttle and Judy Skinner. 49th Annual Santa Fe Spring Arts Festival, NE First St, Downtown. Saturday, April 7, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8, noon to 5 p.m. on Northeast First Street, with music and dance performances at the Actor's Warehouse (619 NE 1st Street) and the Bo Diddley Plaza. North Florida Home & Garden Show, Stephen C. O’Connell Center, Sat – 10-5:00, Sun, 11 – 5:00.The show will feature products and services related to home improvement, landscaping, remodeling, decorating and home sales. In addition to the many home and garden exhibits, the Home Show also includes informational seminars, how-to clinics, and a farmers market.
