Comment of the Day!

I had a similar experience with introducing someone, who is an avid Flaco's cuban sandwich fan, to the Media Noche sandwich recently and he orders nothing but that sandwich now. Well, the sandwich and an occasional quesito, which I introduced him too as well. The power of bread.

The Daily GLOB

Happy Thursday!

GLOBmaster2017Good morning GLOBers and a very happy National Pecan Pie Day Now this is a holiday the GLOB Master can sink his teeth into. There are various ideas about the origins of pecan pie. There are those who state that the French first made it soon after settling in New Orleans in the 1700s and being introduced to the pecan by the Native Americans.  Did you know Approximately $700 million in pies (approx. 186 million units) are sold in grocery stores every year.  Well did you know Boston Cream Pie is a cake, not a pie.  How about the fact fact that if you add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to this desert during a hot Summer lunch hour everything becomes a little more deliciously wonderful.

HARN MUSEUM NIGHTS:  Tonight from 6-9:00 Celebrate the Harn's Museum Night's art of printmaking and design through activities, tours and scavenger hunts. OK, so the GLOB Master is thinking turkey sandwich to go along with a slice of delicious, hot pecan pie and a scoop of cold yummy vanilla ice cream.  Tell me where to meet ya for lunch and I will bring all the brain food you can consume fresh and ready to enjoy . . .

Austin, Texas Singer Toni Price was one of the first talents I discovered on the best radio station on the planet as she sang Lee Dorsey's Funky in the regular music rotation. That was many moons ago and her voice, earthy soulful twang still makes me smile Like we have been friends for a lifetime. being a single mom she has committed her life to motherhood, working in Austin clubs, and caring for her daughter.

From ALL

071218Tprice200Price began singing in high school, but after graduating she sat in with country bands around Nashville, where she was for the most part born and raised. Price moved to Austin in 1989, and learned from the locals, who included Clifford Antone, owner of Antone's blues nightclub, and Austin-area guitarists like Derek O'Brien, who produced her second album. Shortly after she began singing in country bars in Nashville, she hooked up with songwriter Gwil Owen, who wrote many of the songs on her debut, Swim Away. In her blues singing career,

Songwriter Gwill Owen has created a pile of very cool tunes for T, Price's Midnight Pumpkin album. What an amazing combination of songwriting and vocalizing this musical team have put together for a life time of incredible music.

Some may say I've got no class
But I'm doing what I wanna do
So go with me if you can
Or just do what you can do
