Happy Thursday!

"I don't think you can get to this point and not feel good about your team. But the reality of it is we put ourselves behind the eight-ball a bit by losing Sunday night. We're going to have to lean on our freshmen on Thursday to pitch really well for us."

-- Gators Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan

Good morning GLOBers it is time for another DO-OR-DIE baseball game for the Mighty Gator Baseball team.  For the third time in the last three College World Series, the Gators and Red Raiders will meet at TD Ameritrade Park on Thursday night (8 ET). Texas Tech's loss to Arkansas on Wednesday set up an elimination game between the schools.  The Gators must reverse their brief history against the Red Raiders to continue their quest for a second consecutive national title. Texas Tech eliminated Florida from the CWS in 2016 and beat the Gators, 6-3, on Sunday night.  GO GATORS!

HARN MUSEUM ON TAP: Support the Harn Museum of Art and enjoy locally-crafted pints and bites at Cypress & Grove Brewing Company this early evening from 6-9:00. Bring a friend or bring the family—no RSVP is required.  This event is open to the public and a voluntary donation of $20 is encouraged at the door to help support the Harn’s exhibitions and programs. There's something about a Lucinda Williams tune that makes me stop, listen, and smile.  Her clever song writing hits all the right notes for the GLOB Master.  She always has an excellent back-up band with chilln' guitar licks.  More importantly it feels like her songs speak right to me.

031617WilliamsVERTFrom ALLMUSIC.COM:
When Lucinda Williams is at her best (and she often is), even her simplest songs were rich in literary detail, from her poetic imagery to her flawed, conflicted characters. Her singing voice, whose limitations she readily acknowledged, nonetheless developed into an evocative instrument that seemed entirely appropriate to her material

I was listening to the best radio station on the planet the other day and Protection came on. The bottom line with all of these songwriters is the amazingly excellent back up bands that drive home a back beat and some serious guitar playing that grabs my rock-n-roll soul every time:

You know people be grinnin' and talkin' about me
Make me throw up my hands and call out cryin'
But the world's gonna spin with or without me
So I still get up and I keep on tryin'

I love that Lucinda Willians tune above, she is a rockin' songwriter and the just like Lucinda the GLOB Master is all about protecting Rock & Roll.  Have a thoroughly therrific Thursday lunch GLOBers and I will see ya right tomorrow for the best darn day of the week.
