Comment of the Day!

Hi Mike, Thank you for your article and bringing to light the root cause of the "Me too" problem that women live with, yes, on a regular basis. It's time we start addressing things from the root causes rather than surface distractions from it. I recently heard a poem titled "For the women of Long Island", where the author states, I didn't sit my daughter down, but I sat my son down and told him that if he ever made a woman uncomfortable, she would put his hand in a meat slicer and make a hero out of him!' We shouldn't have to sit our daughters down to teach them how to defend themselves against men's shortcomings, and provide support when they have been mistreated.  We should address, build and teach our boys and future men, that it's not cool to offend women, and the value and importance of respecting and honoring them. Then perhaps they might receive the respect and honor they are really longing for, no one gets hurt and we all win.

The field of 64 also includes eight national national seeds, which you may consider the pre-tourney favorites to reach Omaha. Here they are, ranked in order:...  Florida, Stanford, Oregon State. Ole Miss, Arkansas, North Carolina, Florida State, Georgia.  The Gators are the first team to earn the No. 1 overall seed three times, having also done so in 2012 and 2016. Florida is the only team in the country to earn a national seed in each of the last five seasons.  FOLLOW THIS LINK for more information.

052818BarnhilleThe University of Florida Lady Gator Softball team in the No. 2 overall seed in the tournament, will face seventh-seeded Georgia (45-11) in Thursday's opening-round play of the NCAA Women's College World Series at 7 p.m. in Oklahoma City. The Bulldogs swept Tennessee in their Super Region, but needed eight innings to walk-off the Volunteers for a 2-1 win Saturday.  According to the WCWS website:   Florida, a growing rival to the Sooners and who are coached by a former Sooner baseball pitcher in Tim Walton, has, of course, pitcher-supreme Kelly Barnhill, but also has the .433-hitting Amanda Lorenz. The junior also has 11 homers, 61 runs batted in, and 74 hits in 64 games..  FOLLOW THIS LINK for more information and video.
