Comment of the Day!

I was the architect and lead designer of the Civilization Building when it was originally renovated for the preceding tenants. We were really lucky to have a great team working on the renovation, and a lot of things came together during design and construction. It's one of my favorite projects, and I always enjoy reading reviews for Civilization, because in addition to the great food (I eat there regularly) reviewers almost always mention the building and space design as well...

Going home after school, 'back in the day', and listening to the Buffalo Springfield sing Bluebird and playing some amazing air guitar with best friend Mickey Banks was one of of my best high school memories.  The Springfield quickly turned into my favorite rock & roll group, and makes me shake my head in amazement at the very cool sounds these now legendary musicians created..

From ALLMUSIC>com:

Apart from the Byrds, no other American band had as great an impact on folk-rock and country-rock -- really, the entire Californian rock sound -- than Buffalo Springfield. The group's formation is the stuff of legend: driving on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, Stephen Stills and Richie Furay spotted a hearse that Stills was sure belonged to Neil Young, a Canadian he had crossed paths with earlier. Indeed it was, and with the addition of fellow hearse passenger and Canadian Bruce Palmer on bass and ex-Dillard Dewey Martin on drums, the cluster of ex-folkys determined, as the Byrds had just done, to become a rock & roll band.

051718BSalbumThe Buffalo Springfield lineage travels across the rock & roll world from the the Eagles, to Loggins and Messina.  I could talk days about Stephen Stills and Neil Young.   I saw S. Stills bring his Manassas band to Florida Field and Steve was wearing the #7 of Gator Quarterback at the time John Reaves at that time.  Stills' unique voice and mastering of the fuzzy guitar sound caught my attention and to this day Buffalo Springfield songs still give me goose bumps, chicken skin.

When I was on my own
Chasin' you down,
What was it made you run.
Tryin' to get around
The questions of a thousand dreams,
What you do and what you see.
Come on lover, talk to me.
