Also, went to Zoes Kitche  n finally today after seeing your article! Highly recommend the Spinach rolls with chicken! So warm and flavorful, perfect amount too with the Greek Salad with a light yet tasty dressing. But I would opt out of the onions on the salad, as they literally pile a heaping amount of raw onions on there. Salsa delightfully spicy too!  Just thought I'd share :)

Happy Wednesday!

GLOBmaster2017Good morning and happy middle of the week to you!  It seems fitting that this farmers market Wednesday, with outside cooking going on all over the Bo Diddley Community Plaza, is also National Barbecue Day.  Were you aware of the fact that the original barbecue sauce, dating back hundreds of years, consisted of vinegar and pepper.  Hmmm GLOBers. . . My Daddy's home made BBQ sauce contained a good dose of vinegar.  Today they call this kind of tangy sauce Carolina BBQ sauce.

It is Union St. Downtown Farmers Market Wednesday and Union St. St. Market Elder Charlie Lybrand is seeing cantaloupes roliing into the USDFM produce mix:

051618Cracker"The middle of May finds cantaloupes beginning their season at the market. Peaches are becoming more plentiful each week. While displays of beautiful bouquets in a myriad array of colors and styles are now available in great quantities. New potatoes are in season also along with an absolute abundance of squash. Cool weather lettuces, sugar snap peas, snow peas, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collards and turnips are still being harvested while ever increasing amount and varieties of beans, strawberries and blueberries continue the showcase of warm weather crops. Grass fed beef and chicken as well as  seafood are offered every Wednesday. Check the market's products page for a definitive listing of produce. Organic coffee and kombucha are served each week along with a wide variety of prepared foods."
