Comment of the Day!

Thanks, Mikey for giving my dad, Chef Elmo, props. I will be checking out your blog now that I know about it. People always want to know where to get some good food. I was thinking about him this morning when I was having Eggs Benedict at Peach Valley. They do a very good job there. The eggs were perfectly poached and the Hollandaise was almost as good as my dad's.

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning GLOBers. The GLOB Master  is hoping you enjoyed your long weekend.  My thoughts have been with the disastrous weather events taking place in Texas with the insurmountable recovery task underway after Hurricane Harvey,  Thanks to restaurants and other community minded organizations and individuals there are many ways you can participate here in Gainesville in the rebuilding of Houston and surrounding Texas communities cities. A good example in participating is Sonnys BBQ:

To help with the recovery efforts, Sonny's BBQ fans are encouraged to visit and dine at any location from open to close on Wednesday, September 6.

Believing old nutrition 'facts'

With a friend trying to lose weight and wanted to check whether her strategies were sound. She said she counts every calorie, avoids nuts because of the high fat content and snacks only on sugary (but fat-free!) foods. Was she on track?  - READ MORE

DANDELIONS: The new fall food trend:  Dandelions are popping up on menus everywhere, as the weed might do in your garden, and chefs agree that it’s largely due to their bitter flavor.

DAILY GLOB ROCK MUSIC FACTOID: Today in 197- Janis Joplin started recording sessions recording a version of the Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster song Me and Bobby McGee. Joplin, (who was a lover and a friend of Kristofferson's from the beginning of her career to her death), topped the US singles chart with the song in 1971 after her death, making the song the second posthumous No.1 single in US chart history after '(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay' by Otis Redding.

If you're still hungry and need a good lunch idea FOLLOW THIS LINK to Gainesville's Lunch Out Blog Instagram page.  This is where the GLOB's Image Editor Erica Corbett takes great pleasure in sharing amazingly looking, deliciously yummy images of what we are thinking about, contemplating seriously, and eventually eating for lunch in the Urban GLOB.

Have a totally tubular Tuesday lunch GLOBers and I will see ya right here tomorrow.
